Sex Education
I think it is a Public opinion that should be motivated about sex
education. Up till now there was no sex education, still there are problems,
there are AIDS cases, Unwanted Pregnancies, young Boys and Girls in Schools and
collages having Pre-Marital Sex, Rapes and Inter-Relational problems. These problems
are already there even before there was sex education. It is going to produce
the quantum of these problems.
What is the purpose of conferences as the third Asian Sexology Meet? Do
they help to get the messages of awareness to the public at large? These conferences
are definitely useful because we can projects ideas, recent advances not only
in the field of Sexuality but get the ideas of different people and how we can
best propagate them to the public at large. And we can have some drafts as Doctor
Prakash Kothari has said in the conference which we will send to the Ministry
to incorporate in to the sex Education programme. Few Years back a Minister has
talked about curbing sex Education. He is believed to have said that it is not necessary
for Indians. Do you think when there is no much pressure and not much help form
the Government? Can we really reach the Masses?
