Qus 1.  What is the procedure for taking admissions in NIOS?

Ans.      NIOS has introduced 100% Online Admission at the Secondary and the Senior Secondary Level in order to facilitate learners in registering themselves with it.
              Under the scheme, learners have 3 options:
1. They can registered themselves Online directly by visiting the website of NIOS i.e. www.nios.ac.in
2. They may visit their nearest AI (Study Centre) Facilitation centre and take their help for online registration.
3. They may visit their regional centres and take their help for online registration.
Candidates can also use the services of common services centres of the Government of India for online registration throughout the Country.

Qus 2.  What is the illegibility criteria for admission to the Secondary Course?
Ans.      A person who has passed Class VIII and has valid proof of attaining 14 Years of Age can apply for registration to the Secondary Course.
A person given self-certificate I have studies enough to be able to pursue Secondary Course is also eligible for admission to the Secondary Course.
A person who had studied at the Secondary Level can also seek admission in NIOS either to complete the course or to improve his performances.
              A residential proof of the Learner.

Qus 3.  What is the valid proof of Date of Birth (DOB)?
Ans.      The Certificate of Date of Birth issued by Municipal Corporation, a Municipal Body, a Village Panchayat or any other Body authorised by the Registrar Birth & Death, Government of India is a valid proof. However in caser of Orphans, Street Children etc a Medical Certificate in respect of Age issued by Government Hospital is also expectable as valid proof.

Qus 4.  What is the validity period of admission?
Ans.      Admission once registered is valid up to next 5 Years.

Qus 5.  Does NIOS allow any free concession?
Ans.      Free Concession is provided to females and SC/ST/Ex-Servicemen and differently abled candidates as per NIOS norms.

By: Dennis Jarvis https://www.flickr.com/photos/archer10/   मैं आपको एक ऐसी घटना के बारे में बताना चाहता हूँ जो सरकारी नौकरी के दौरान कोलकाता, पश्चिम बंगाल में गठित हुई. यह बात 1987 की है. मैं अपने कार्यालय धर्मतल्ले में आने के लिए बैरकपुर से ट्रेन द्वारा स्यालदाह स्टेशन आ रहा था. उस ज़माने में भी ट्रेनों में काफी भीड़ हुआ करती थी. अचानक मैंने देखा कि किसी भद्र पुरुष की मृत्यु हो गयी थी तथा उसके मृत शरीर को बांस की तख्ती में बांधकर किसी तरह डिब्बे में खड़ा कर दिया गया. यह मेरे जीवन का एक विचित्र अनुभव था क्योंकि इसके पहले मैंने कभी भी किसी आदमी के मृत शरीर को ट्रेन में जाते नहीं देखा था. इस पर मैंने अपने सहयात्रियों से पुछा जो मुख्यतया बंगाली थे कि यहाँ ऐसा क्यों हो रहा है. उन लोगों ने बताया कि हम लोग बहुत गरीब हैं तथा हमारा घर एक गाँव में है वहां से किसी तरह इन्हें हम कोलकाता अंतिम संस्कार के लिए ले जा रहे हैं. यह हमारे जीवन का एक अनोखा अनुभव था जिसे मैं आप सभी से साझा करना चाहता हूँ.

NIOS: हाई स्कूल परीक्षा में गणित का अनिवार्य न होना

बहुत से विद्यार्थी हाई स्कूल की परीक्षा में अंग्रेजी तथा गणित में अधिक अनुत्त्रीन होते हैं. हमारी केंद्र सरकार ने इस समस्या का बड़ा अच्छा निदान निकाला है. वो है ‘राष्ट्रीय ओपन स्कूल’ द्वारा ‘ CBSE BOARD’ के पाठ्यक्रमानुसार शिक्षा देना. इसके द्वारा परीक्षा पास करने पर वही लाभ तथा अवसर मिलते हैं जिसमें विद्यार्थी विद्यालयों में  CBSE BOARD  से परीक्षा देता है. इसमें एक विद्यार्थी जिसकी उम्र 14 वर्ष है वो कहीं रोजगार करते हुए खाली समय में अपने नामांकन कराकर ‘OPEN SCHOOL’ पध्यती से हर साल 2 बार होने वाली परीक्षा में बैठ सकता है. किसी रोजगार या नौकरी के कारण वो किसीपर निर्भर हुए बिना परीक्षा देकर अपना भविष्य सुधार सकता है. HIGH SCHOOL परीक्षा में एक कोई भारतीय भाषा लेकर तथा अन्य 4 विषय लेकर परीक्षा दे सकता है. जहाँ देश के कई राज्य के बोर्डों में HIGH SCHOOL परीक्षा में गणित एक अनिवार्य विषय होता है यहाँ ऐसा नहीं है. राज्य के बोर्डों में छात्र गृह विज्ञान नहीं ले सकते यहाँ केवल छात्राएं ही गणित के स्थान पर गृह विज्ञान ले सकती हैं. इंटरमीडिएट पास करने के लिए एक भारतीय भाषा तथा...
